Vice Mayor Thelda Williams recently was named co-chair of the Luke West Valley Council, chaired by Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs. The Vice Mayor will serve in this position for one year.
“I am honored to serve as co-chair and appreciate this opportunity given to me by Mayor Scruggs,” said Vice Mayor Williams. “I look forward to serving the members of the West Valley as well as our servicemen and women at Luke Air Force Base.”
Luke West Valley Council was established in the mid-1980s. Its functions include discussing and addressing community issues, challenges and successes in Luke activities. The Council is made up of elected officials from 12 West Valley cities, Luke Air Force Base officials, Maricopa County Board of Directors and representatives from the Sun City and Sun City West governments.
