Councilman Tom Simplot will rappel down the side of the One Lexington condominiums at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Central and Lexington avenues.
The Over the Edge fundraising event is designed to provide participants with the thrilling opportunity to rappel down a 16-story urban high-rise building in a safe environment while raising money for Special Olympics Arizona.
Individuals who participate are required to raise a minimum of $1,000 and can solicit donations from family, friends and co-workers.
Special Olympics Arizona’s mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy.
